Requirements
Prospective members must:
• Be actively practicing in Estate Planning in one of the approved membership categories in the Sacramento Valley area.
• Be recommended by three Estate Planning Council members.
• Attend two general membership meetings prior to consideration of the application by the Board. The sponsor must certify, in writing, that the applicant is qualified for membership and has attended the requisite meetings.
• Under no circumstances may an applicant from one of the professional categories be accepted for membership if such acceptance would result in his/her profession constituting more than 40% of the total Council membership.
• An application fee of $235 must be remitted with the completed application. This payment will be refunded if applicant is not accepted for any reason. This payment includes dues to the following June 30th. The $235 comprises a one-time application fee of $50 and annual dues of $185. After December of each year the dues amount is reduced to $145 (includes $95 annual dues and $50 application fee). There is also a special rate of $95 if attended the Technical Forum of the current year.
