Our roundtrip excursion travels along a 10-mile stretch of track through Yolo’s countryside.  Embark on a journey among elements of a classic era. \n \nTRAIN HISTORY\n \n \n \n \n \n \nOriginally built in 1911 by Northern Electric Co., the 14-mile track transported passengers in the Sacramento area. Electric passenger travel came to an end in 1941, but the line remained active with diesel freight, creating a link between the fertile farmlands of the Sacramento Valley and the rest of California.\n \n \n \n \nIn 2003, Sierra Railroad merged with the West Sacramento – Woodland line, continuing freight and reviving passenger excursion trains under the name Sacramento River Train. Today, we are known as the River Fox Train, the sister train to our world-famous Skunk Train built in 1885. We hope you enjoy taking part in such a rich history.\n \n \n \n\n
